Fire Prevention week takes place from October 4 to October 10, 2026, sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association. 

Every year there is a specific theme to teach fire prevention to our children and the public in general. This year with the theme of "Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower" the core focus is educating people on the safe handling and charging of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries found in phones, laptops, e-bikes, scooters, and toys. The safety goal of is to prevent overheating, fires, and explosions caused by damaged or incorrectly charged batteries.
